The POMCTN-adopted TOPIC-2 trial is now calling for centres!

TOPIC-2 is a large, pragmatic, multi-centre randomised controlled trial to investigate the effectiveness of ThOracic Epidural and Paravertebral Blockade In reducing Chronic Post- Thoracotomy Pain.

Trial Aims

TOPIC-2 is planning to recruit 1026 adult patients undergoing open thoracotomy patients over 54 months in approximately 20 thoracic surgical centres in the UK.

This trial has been funded by the HTA, adopted by NIHR, endorsed by POMCTN, SCTS and ACTACC and offers a £300 fee per patient enrolled.
