The UK POMCTN is recruiting for vacancies to both the POMCTN Board and the POMCTN Chief Investigator Scheme.

These vacancies were announced at the third annual POMCTN Autumn Meeting, held at the RCoA on 19-20 November 2018.

POMCTN Board Vacancy

There is one vacancy on the POMCTN Board. Applicants for Board membership should be active researchers in the field of clinical perioperative medicine and must be current and eligible members of either the POMCTN Local or Principal Investigator schemes.

POMCTN Board members have the opportunity to shape the future of the Network and help drive world-class, multi-centre, national clinical trials in perioperative medicine. The Board meets approximately three times per year and members are expected to attend all meetings.

The term of office for Board members is 3 years, renewable for a further term to a maximum of 6 years. There is no remuneration or back-fill for Board members, though meeting expenses are reimbursed.

Chief Investigator Scheme

The POMCTN Chief Investigator Scheme is intended to provide training and mentor-ship for a small number of talented individuals who wish to lead their own clinical trials in perioperative medicine. Applicants must be existing members of the POMCTN Local or Principal Investigator scheme, with a proven track record of recruitment to clinical trials.

Applicants will also ideally have the experience of a complete research cycle as a grant co-applicant, from outline application through to publication and dissemination of results. Previous experience of reviewing topic journal papers, grant applications or similar tasks is desirable.

Applications are welcomed from individuals of any clinical background of relevance to perioperative medicine. Visit our Chief Investigator page for more information.
